Ramsey County hope to have proposals evaluated, and the selected firm starting work by April 1st. An open house will be held to review detailed design elements in summer/fall 2021. Ramsey County are still on track to bid the construction in late winter/early spring 2022 and have the project completed in its entirety by fall of 2022. Saputo’s donation of $25,000 to Lake Links through its Legacy Community Program will be used to cover the cost of building. White Bear Township has created a site plan. Mahtomedi architect Brian Gatzlaff will oversee construction. Rotary International’s White Bear Chapter will provide most of the volunteer help to construct.

  • Preliminary engineering analysis along Highway 96 on the north side of White Bear Lake considering trail alignment and improved safety at key intersections was completed in 2019. Historical evidence of enhanced right-of-way along the highway is circulating. MnDOT, the City of White Bear Lake, White Bear Township, Ramsey County and Met Council are working to implement trail segment by 2022.
