Meyer Contracting restarted work on the South Shore Boulevard segment of the Lake Links Trail in earnest on April 12 after the winter shutdown. After eight days things are looking good. The remaining 1/2 mile section of blacktop on the west end has been torn up and storm drain / culvert work is proceeding at a fast pace. For the section from White Bear Avenue to Bellaire Beach there is not much utility work (unlike the section east of Bellaire, which was complex), so with the materials on site progress should be smooth. Onsite crews have been suggesting an early July completion!
In the meantime, enjoy the photos and stay out of the construction activity (especially during the workday when heavy equipment is moving around). The detours are posted on our maps and on the streets.
